For his birthday, Bart gets a Superstar Celebrity microphone that transmits sound through an AM radio. As a prank he tosses a small radio down a well in the middle of town and, identifying himself as "Timmy O'Toole", uses the microphone to call out help. Soon a large crowd gathers. Fears mount when the crowd realizes that rescuers cannot fit down the well's small hole. Krusty and Sting spearhead a video. "We're Sending Our Love Down the Well", to raise money for "Timmy's" rescue.
Lisa discovers Bart's ruse and warns him that he will not get away with it. Bart laughs off her warning until he remembers that he put a "Property of Bart Simpson" sticker on the radio. As he climbs down the well to retrieve the radio, the rope breaks, trapping him for real.
Bart admits to Lou and Eddie that he is "Timmy O' Toole" and was only playing a joke. When the townspeople learn about Bart's prank, they decide to leave Bart stranded in the well. Homer overhears Bart crying and starts to dig. Soon, others join. Shoveling furiously, the townspeople finally band together to rescue Bart. |
