Marge visits Dr. Hibbert to find out if she is pregnant. While she is gone, Homer recounts to the children how their marriage started...
It is 1980, an Homer is dating Marge. After seeing The Empire Strikes Back one night, the two "snuggle". A few weeks later, Marge finds out that she is pregnant. To make her an honest women, Homer proposes.
Following brief nuptials, Homer sets out to find a decent job. He tries several places, including the power plant, but nothing seems to work out. When the baby clothes and furniture are repossessed, Homer decides that Marge would be better off without him. Ashamed, he leaves in the middle of the night, but not before writing Marge a letter, telling her that he will send her every cent he makes. Marge tracks him down at the Gulp 'N Blow restaurant and pleads with him to come home.
With renewed determination, Homer returns to the power plant and tells Burns that he will be the perfect spineless employee. Burns hires him.
Homer tells his children what a blessing they have been. When Marge arrives home with the news that she is not pregnant, she and Homer "high-five". |
