Art Values Are Subjective |
With artwork from The Simpsons increasing in value each year, it has become difficult to set a definitive price guide. Purchases and transactions involve many factors which go into a final value. Some of these factors include:
- Age of a Piece
- Episode Popularity
- Characters Included
- Rarity of Similar Cels
|
- Type of Background Used
- Condition of Art
- Prior Owner(s)
- Current Economic Impact
|
It is important to remember that with any piece of art, whether it's a fine painting or an animation cel, the value is subjective. Simpsons artwork fluctuates with each individual piece.
20th Century Fox currently considers Bart to be the primary character on The Simpsons when releasing cels. Any cel which features him will be listed at $100 - $200 more than a cel which does not include him. In prior release years, Homer was considered as the primary character. This has since changed.
