Episode Summary |
|
A routine physical at work reveals that Homer's sperm count has been damaged due to radiation exposure. Fearing a lawsuit Burns' lawyers suggest that Homer receive a token sum of money in exchange for a legal waiver. To get Homer to accept the $2000 and sign the waver, Burns tells him that the money is for winning the fictitious First Annual Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence.
Meanwhile, Homer's half=brother Herb, who has been a bum since staking his company on Homer's design for a car, needs an investor for a new invention. Reminding the family that Homer is responsible for his plummet from prosperity, Herb asks for the $2000 to build a baby translator- a device capable of translating a baby's garbled gibberish into understandable speech. Homer gives him money instead of buying a massage chair and the invention becomes an instant money-maker.
Rich once again, Herb pays Homer back the $2000 and buys the family various gifts, including an NRA membership for Bart, a washer / dryer for Marge, and a recliner for Homer. He also forgives Homer for ruining him in the first place. |
