Episode Summary |
|
Bart is crushed when he learns that Milhouse did not invite him to his birthday party. Meanwhile, at the plant, Homer falls asleep on the job, unaware that a nuclear meltdown has begun. He is awakened by the sirens and immediately panics. With only seconds left, he randomly presses the right button and saves the city. Homer becomes a local hero, but feels like a fraud after a congratulatory call from Magic Johnson. Aristotle Amadopolis , owner of the Shelbyville Nuclear Power Plant, asks Homer to give a pep-talk to his employees.
Bart finds out that Milhouse is forbidden to play with him because he's a bad influence. After Marge talks to Milhouse's mother, Mrs. Van Houten decides to let Bart play with her son again.
Homer tries to deliver his speech to Amadopolis' employees, but he's at a loss for words. He is saved when the meltdown alarms go off. Everyone turns to Homer to avert disaster, but Homer does not know what to do. Closing his eyes and pointing "eenie, meenie, miney, mo", he again picks the right button. This time, however, everyone realizes that Homer has merely gotten by on dumb luck. |
